Our seed orchards

For many years, HD Seed has been breeding trees and bushes for forests, parks and gardens in Europe.

Breeding at our orchards requires permanent focus to accommodate our customers' wishes and requirements for the plant material of the future.

Breeding new products at HedeDanmark is based on the wishes of customers and society. When a new wish or purpose arises, the best genetics expected to meet these wishes will be selected. The new genetics can be selected based on health, shape, growth, hardiness or other specific characteristics such as colour, no thorns, etc. When the best possible genetics have been found, the clones selected will be composed in a seed orchard.

These seed orchards are placed in various plantations in Mid-Jutland with minimum risk of foreign pollination.
